Briony Tronson- Creative Arts Therapist (AThR) & Certified Practising Counsellor - MA Therapeutic Arts Practice
Hi, I'm Briony (she/her). I work with adults who may be looking for a space to talk, curious to try something different, or interested in a therapeutic approach that can move between conversation, creative exploration and embodied ways of working.
I am particularly interested in working alongside people navigating trauma and complex trauma, neurodivergence, anxiety and overwhelm, relationship difficulties, identity, grief and periods of transition. My approach is relational, collaborative and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on choice, self-determination and meeting people where they are.
On a more personal front I am deeply interested in community, sustainability, spirituality and the human potential. I love exploring symbolism and story, am fascinated by nature and in my downtime enjoy puddling around my garden with my many, many pot plants! All my life I have loved the art making process and continue to find it an important place of solace for me.
What matters in my practice
I value creativity, integrity, compassion, inclusivity and safety.
I work relationally, collaboratively and in a trauma-informed way.
I honour people's lived experience, autonomy and right to determine what is meaningful for them.
Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience of complex trauma (CPTSD) to my work. I know what it is to rebuild a life from difficult places, while recognising that each person's experience is their own. My lived experience informs my commitment to choice, agency and careful pacing in therapeutic work.
Additional Experience & Background
Before and alongside my therapeutic work, I have developed a strong background in environmental education, eco-arts and community-based sustainability initiatives.
For many years I managed environmental education programs across schools and community groups and contributed to community projects focused on sustainability, resilience and ecological awareness.
These experiences continue to influence my relationship with nature-based art practice and my interest in the intersections between creativity, ecology, community and therapeutic work.
