How I work

How I Work

I believe in the profound impact that creative expression, creative exploration and play can have on our lives. I approach therapy with a deep commitment to understanding each individual in the context of their lived experience. My work is grounded in neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and intersectional practices, which I believe are vital for a sense of safety, respect and collaboration. Each of us is wonderfully unique. We are also shaped by our identities, our experiences and our communities. If you are navigating anxiety, trauma or life transitions, I can support you in your journey - meeting you where you are, with empathy and respect.

My Approach

I integrate art therapy, somatic awareness, mindfulness, imaginal work and dialogue-based therapy to help you explore your emotions, thoughts and experiences. You will find our sessions together are flexible and may involve expressive and exploratory art making, embodied sensing, combined with reflective conversation. I’ll continue to check in with what works best for you.

Creative Arts Therapy sessions at Seedopod Creative Arts Studio are client-focused empowering you to shape the work we do together, while feeling supported throughout. I see therapy as a deeply collaborative process.

Polyvagal Informed

I am polyvagal-informed, meaning I can help you track your nervous system responses during our sessions- which may shift between states of safety, activation, or shutdown. I will help you understand these shifts and support you in finding balance at your own pace. I am also currently deepening my knowledge of Somatic Experiencing principles as part of my ongoing professional development with Somatic Experiencing® International.

Inclusive & Trauma-Informed

My practice is built on a foundation of inclusivity. I work with people of all identities, backgrounds, and neurotypes, ensuring that the space is affirming and respectful for all. I am particularly committed to supporting trans and gender-diverse individuals, and those who are marginalised - including single mothers, people with disabilities, and those navigating complex identity dynamics.

Fostering Connection to Community

Healing does not happen in isolation; it is deeply shaped by our relational experiences and the communities we belong to. I acknowledge how family, social and cultural contexts may influence your experience and sense of self. In our work together we can explore, how these forces intersect with your personal journey, fostering empowerment and growth.

What to Expect in a Session

During our therapy sessions you will have an active role in shaping your therapeutic journey. Together, we will decide on the approach that best suits your needs- whether this be through artmaking, somatic work, movement or dialogue. Sessions may flow through simple cycles - enter, notice, shape, reflect. We will ensure you explore at a pace you are comfortable with. In some sessions you may choose just to create art as a form of self care. We will conclude each session by identifying next steps, or grounding if needed.

Why This Matters

I am deeply committed to supporting those who have felt marginalised or misunderstood, particularly those navigating neurodivergence, trauma and identity complexities. My approach is all about listening, adapting, and providing the space and tools for you to create lasting change in your life.

While my primary focus is on trauma-informed creative arts therapy, I also draw on eco-arts practices when appropriate, helping clients reconnect with the natural world.
